The International Workshop Bioinformatics Research and Applications provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and results among researchers, developers, and practitioners working on all aspects of bioinformatics and computational biology and their applications. Authors are invited to submit papers that demonstrate original unpublished research in all areas of bioinformatics, including the development of experimental or commercial systems. Surveys of important recent results and directions are also welcome. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
All submissions will be fully reviewed, and accepted papers will be published in Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). Authors must submit papers electronically by following the instructions at http://www.easychair.org/IWBRA06/submit/. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper. Submissions must be formatted according to the LNCS format (122 mm by 193 mm printed area, single column, 10 point font) and have between 6 and 8 pages in length. If the authors believe that more details are essential to substantiate the main claims of the paper, they may include a clearly marked appendix that will be read at the discretion of the program committee. Submissions not meeting these guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits. Full versions of selected accepted papers will be invited to a special issue of the International Journal on Bioinformatics Research and Applications. Important Dates:
