IWBRA 2006 2nd International Workshop on Bioinformatics Research and Applications http://dna.engr.uconn.edu/IWBRA University of Reading, UK May 28-31, 2006 in conjunction with 2006 International Conference on Computational Science http://www.iccs-meeting.org/iccs2006/ The International Workshop Bioinformatics Research and Applications provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and results among researchers, developers, and practitioners working on all aspects of bioinformatics and computational biology and their applications. Authors are invited to submit papers that demonstrate original unpublished research in all areas of bioinformatics, including the development of experimental or commercial systems. Surveys of important recent results and directions are also welcome. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: * Bioinformatic databases * Biomedical image processing * Bio-ontology and data mining * Computational genetics * Comparative genomics * Data visualization * Gene expression and microarrays * Gene identification and annotation * Immunoinformatics * Molecular evolution and phylogeny * Molecular modeling and simulation * Molecular sequence analysis * Parallel bioinformatics algorithms * Pathways and systems biology * Protein structure prediction All submissions will be fully reviewed, and accepted papers will be published in Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). Authors must submit papers electronically by following the instructions at http://www.easychair.org/IWBRA06/submit/. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper. Submissions must be camera-ready and formatted according to the LNCS format. Please note that papers must not exceed eight pages in length in the rather restrictive LNCS format (a 122 mm by 193 mm printed area, single column, 10 point font). Full versions of selected accepted papers will be invited to a special issue of the International Journal on Bioinformatics Research and Applications. IMPORTANT DATES: - Paper submission deadline: December 16, 2005 - Notification of acceptance: January 31, 2006 - Final version submission: February 10, 2006 - Early registration: March 30, 2006 REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION: For details on registration and accommodation information, please refer to the ICCS web site at http://www.iccs-meeting.org/iccs2006/.
